A multilingual, former tri-athlete, with a passion for beats and a head for success, there’s no one quietly working harder in this game than Miami, Florida’s DJ Entice. In the early start of his career at 17, it took only three short years to stake his claim as a premiere diverse jockey and producer in South Florida, having spun sets for Miami’s most popular weekly radio hip-hop mixshow on 99Jamz (WEDR-FM), lent his talents to major entertainment industry events, producing tracks for artists and one of his groundbreaking accomplishments, being the first recruited by an NFL team as their Official DJ. The French-Brazilian DJ has always had a pronounced interest in music of all kinds, but it was hip-hop, with the beats and rhythms so close to those of his countries of origin, that fully drew him into developing his talent for mixing at an early age. Inspired by the music of Run DMC and the Sugar Hill Gang as a child, he became of star of South Florida house parties for his clever sourcing of old school beats and inventive variations of the newest hip hop records, dropped with the tinge of his home city’s International vibe. In 2004, Cedric Hollywood, former Program Director for WEDR-FM, recognized the young talent and recruited him to mix for 99Jamz, the #1 Arbitron-rated Miami radio station that tailors its play list for die-hard hip-hop addicts. Entice received a heartily warm welcome from his colleagues. Big Lip Bandit, one of 99Jamz most popular hosts to-date, tagged the newcomer to the station as the city’s new “young gunna.” Earning his own mixshow, today you can hear him mixing live for the “Drive at 5” traffic music mix at 5:00pm in the afternoons alongside host Lorenzo Ice-T, who also nicknamed the DJ “Miami’s Marathon DJ,” for his non-stop work ethic. It quickly became one of his trademarks amongst colleagues and friends. In addition to keeping listeners entertained during the busiest traffic hour, he also takes over the airwaves with host Mike B. every Saturday evening from 10pm to Midnight with the “Saturday Night Thunderstorm” show. Impressed with his dexterity at the cross fader, esteemed DJ and producer Clinton Sparks (now on the E! Channel), recruited Entice as part of his world-renowned Smashsquad DJ Mix Unit. This cabal of DJs tour and produce a range of mixes and CDs that set the music tastes of hip-hop heads in scenes throughout the world. It wasn’t long before Tony Neal, founder of the Core DJs, recognized Entice’s talent and recruited him to become an official Core DJ. Entice was also recruited as a Turntable Assassin. All of these crews represent the best-of-the-best in their respective field. Even bigger props were lent to Entice’s growing reputation when recording artist Fat Joe approached him with an interest in his beats. Since then, various international recording artists broke their silence and showed their sincere admiration for the young DJ’s talents by sealing relationships with the rising star ranging from . A favorite at Miami’s most exclusive venues and parties, Entice has performed for crowds at world-renowned South Beach clubs such as Prive, Opium, Mansion, Cameo and Bash to name a few. He continuously lends his talents to fund-raising events and charitable organizations that remain close to his heart which include the Annual Cancer Walk-A-Thon, Florida International University’s dance marathon for Miami Children’s Hospital, World Aids Fundraiser events, ONE campaign led by ambassadors Bono and Brad Pitt, Roy & Lea Blacks’ Annual Gala, Alonzo Mourning’s Zo’s Summer Groove, charity:water and more. Entice has also been spreading his wings internationally, having spun for crowds in Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paolo in Brazil, Paris, Cannes, Moscow, Canada and soon to Japan and Australia. Entice’s hometown has been continually showing its admiration for his talent and groundbreaking strategies. Keeping up with his accomplishments speak volumes of his drive for success. He shocked the industry when he took off his sweatshirt during a live taping of BET’s The Bassment, to reveal a Miami Dolphins jersey announcing his arrival to the team. He was named the first Official DJ for an NFL football team, and roused the 80,000 fans with his mixes at every game from the 50-yard line. AOL Music launched a radio station called ‘Mixptapes’ which featured select hip-hop DJs from all over the nation; Entice was selected as one of the first DJs to help launch this station where his mixes would be heard in rotation to over 9 million users a week. After a couple of years with the NFL, Entice made yet another move. Head coach of the University of Miami football team, Randy Shannon, had attended a season opener game and was so impressed by Entice’s presence and reaction from the fans, that he began to campaign for Entice to become their DJ. He quickly seized the opportunity and made room for Entice to join his champion team as their Official ‘Canes DJ. Noticing the overwhelming approval of students and fans, UM basketball head coach Frank Haith brought Entice on to the court as their DJ as well for all home games, becoming the pride of ‘Canes athletics and adding that extra ‘swag’ the U is known for. In 2008, Universal Studios Orlando came calling and asked Entice to perform at their Annual Grad Bash. The entire theme park shuts down and closes to the public from 6pm until 2am, allowing exclusive access to busloads of graduating seniors. With such overwhelming success in their first year they asked him back in 2009 and will join again for the 3rd consecutive year in 2010. His production studio, located in the heart of Downtown Miami, is in full-throttle. When he is not performing, he dedicates hours to his studio pumping out creative new sounds for artists. In 2009, Entice signed on as superstar recording artist Flo Rida’s official DJ and since then has made appearances on shows including Jimmy Fallon, Live with Regis & Kelly, Wendy Williams, Tonight show with Jay Leno, Lopez Tonight with George Lopez, Jimmy Kimmel, Conan O’Brien, Mtv and NBC’s Today show. Entice is a celebrity in his own right, but seldom acts like one. His humble attitude towards his work ethic and manners, have always won over the hearts of everyone he has crossed paths with. He has grown on both a national and international level but remains true to his local roots, earning him the respect of his fans. His clean cut talent on the turn tables, are no different from his clean cut appearance, making him that all-around “clean” DJ. If his recent accolades say anything, Entice is certain to be bringing his unique mixes and vibe to many more audiences very soon. Passion, after all, runs deep.
